Hi Heather thanks for checking up behind me. I Googled it and found this answer: The answer really depends on what you count as legs.
If you count only the walking legs, it's four pairs, or 8.
However, the claws are really a modified pair of legs too, so that's 10
I am not sure how easy it is to see in the picture but we put 4 pairs of legs on the bottom half of the plate and the two pincher "legs" on the top half of the plate. They were really fun to make.
