Last month I attended a great session at FCTM that emphasized the importance of the counting and cardinality standard that deals with numbers and quantities. They broke it down into 5 parts.  I put together a PowerPoint, videos and a goal sheet to help explain the importance of this standard to our kindergarten team.  The simple test shown in the videos and the goal sheet allows me, at a glance, to know what small group instruction each student needs.. 

   

 

Student number 1 will work on cardinality.

Student number 2 will work on conservation.

Student number 3 has a good understanding of this standard.

The students mark their goal sheet which helps them take ownership in their learning.

What Happened to February?
